Thumbs downI want some Peaches!!!

Approx 5 years ago I got this peach tree when I renewed my Arbor Day Foundation membership. I stuck it in the ground haven't had a peach yet. It Blooms like crazy, then the leaves curl and fall off. I still have forming peaches, and then, they have tiny holes in them, that ooze some liquid. Is there anything I can do now to salvage next years peaches, This could be the last winter for this tree if I get no peaches next year, This tree will be seasoned and added to by BBQ Pit to slow smoke a rack of ribs or two. But seriously, can some one out there tell me how to save a tree!

Sounds like you have several problems going on at once.
One the leaf curl sounds like a fungus problem.

PEACH LEAF CURL
The peach leaf curl fungus, Taphrina deformans, can infect peach leaves, flowers, and fruit. Infected leaves pucker, thicken, curl and often turn red. Infected leaves eventually turn yellow and drop from the tree. Severe leaf drop can weaken the plant and reduce fruit quality. Fruit symptoms of raised, wrinkled areas, are often overlooked.

Prevention and Treatment: Control is impossible after the symptoms are visible. Fungicides applied before bud break give good control. Usually one dormant application is sufficient. This application may be mixed with spray oil for scale and mite control. If disease has been severe enough in the past to warrant chemical control, choose one of the following fungicides for use: ferbam, chlorothalonil, copper hydroxide, bordeaux, basic copper sulfate, copper salts of fatty acids or ammonical copper. Apply all chemicals according to directions on the label.

The second, with the holes in the fruit sounds like a bug problem. I would put in a call to your local County extension Agent in Agriculture and ask them what is the best treatment for your Peach tree.

Also Is your tree self Pollinating?
I know that fruit trees often need a pollinator to produce fruit. You might need to buy a different variety of Peach tree to get fruit.

You never said anything about a fertilizer program.
Any fruit bearing tree like plenty of fertilizer to give you plenty of fruit. If you are into being 'Green' try composted cow manure, eitheer from a near by farm or your local plant nursery, be sure to never put composted manure right up against the trunk of any plant it can cause potential problems down the road.

You said your tree is 5 years old.
Peach trees don't mature until 4 - 10 years.

If all else fails I would call your local Extension Agent In Agriculture. They are a wealth of information and can give you advice and even tell you names of people that are experienced in your zone with growing Peach trees.

I hope this has helped and good luck. Please give your little tree a chance.
