It is a beautiful tree, and I am sure you will enjoy its feathery leaves, the golden flowers and the copper colored seed pots.
But I guess my answer won't do much good since I am FL and here this tree is considered invasive. I had it in my yard for just two years, and to get rid of it will probably take me four. The seeds keep sprouting. and sprouting.... everywhere, in the gutter, inside the down spout, they grow in bromeliad cups, on tree limbs, inbetween fence panels....

Shouldn't be hard for you to get the seeds to germinate.

Does it look somewhat like the golden chain tree? That is what I think I wanted to get but they were out at the time. Golden yellow flowers? Thanks for info.

We have one!

Angie we have one that is about 3 ore 4 yrs old now. They are supposed to be fast growers, like full sun. Ours is about 5 and a half feet now, pretty leaves. Check out www.arborday.org, the National Arbor Day Foundation's website, they have great info on trees.

Info

They don't flower like the chain trees. There's one of those in my area and I love their flowers. Ours hasn't flowered yet but I checked out it's pic on the web I gave you and they are attractive trees.

Thanks Mandy

Will check out site when I get time. Don't have any trees here except the couple fruit trees when we moved in. Just bought a small couple in. weeping cherry. And want to try these for something different. Did also buy a couple little spruce trees. They are doing ok from last year. Wish me luck.

Thumbs downrain tree

I also am familar with the rain tree & it is very pretty & the leaves turn reddish golden color too, but AS tropical said they are a nusense with all the little trees popping up everywhere, I think If I were u I would trade it to someone that wants 1 & order u a chain tree instead. I ordered me a golden chain tree on line & it will be here today, This house near us has 1 & it is sooooooo gorgeous with long yellow (chains ) of blossoms draping down the limbs, every limb is blooming,so take a cue from me & toss the golden rain tree to the curb. just my opinion of coarse.

Sounds as invasive as our mulberry trees here in Oklahoma. If you turn your back, they'll grow everywhere they aren't supposed to grow. And deep rooted! The ones that were in the only flowerbed on the property when we bought it are still there-except one died this spring. I let it stay cause it was a fruit bearing one (as little fruit as it can bear when it can only grow 5 feet tall because its under a maple!) Now that the female is dead-I think the male is going too!
