It's been quite a while since I started this thread. I figure it's time to share what my avocado looks like

Thanks . Hmmm I'd have to say 2 years old ?? It was one of the first things I tried once joining this site. I will admit I had some issues due to inexperience. I grew him indoors for the first year in a pot with no drainage. I didn't realize how important that was to plant health at the time. So he was sick for a while. Second mistake was throwing him outside in the spring when the plant had never been in direct sun. Whoops. Burnt him bad. I then repotted him in tree soil and I worked him slowly to adjust to full sun. I then cut him back if you could tell. He now has new leaves all over that are adjusted for full sun and it is enjoying being outside. I'm glad I didn't lose the battle.

That's how I root mine. From what I was told if you let the fruit get over ripe the seed will germinate quicker.

I did not know that. My avocado was pretty firm when I cut it. Maybe I should have waited.
