Gary welcome to PS for the PNW. I don't know much about hostas but we do have a few people here who do one especially is crazy about them. I think you'll enjoy this site. We have lots of wonderful folks here who are willing to share their advice. There are a lot of things to do and of course there is the swaping.

welcome from southern ohio gary! here's my take on this:

the world's largest hosta. are we talking mature clump size? a few can spread by rhizomes and "quasi" runners.....so if they can spread infinatly would that make THEM potentially the largest? or are we referring to leaf size? 'e wu' 'mr big' 'sum and substance' 'tom rex' all can get mammoth this may help you out!

if you have any questions I'd love to help you out!

Amber

Hi there and welcome.
From all of the research that I have been doing, yes, it is the worlds tallest (biggest) Hosta reaching heights over 4 1/2 ft tall.
I have been searching for one but all garden centers up here are sold out even before they receive them. It is its first year of wide release and can be quite expensive. Next year it should be more available and cheaper. My local garden center already has a waiting list for next year and I am on it...lol
It is a beauty alright.
Hope that this helps...
Take care
Gary (GG)

Thanks for the links guys but the sites are located in the US and do not ship to Canada. It sure is a buzz up here but most locations have sold all their stock before they received it. I guess I have to wait till next year.....I'll live...
Take care
Gary

Well Gary
Nice to meet you and if I had some of that hosta I would send you some. I always wait for new intros to come down in price, sometimes it is quite a wait. But I am cheap!

Oh what a wonderful link! I love Hostas but don't have as much shade here as I did at my old house. I have several planted here and hope to be getting more soon, I'll find some shade somewhere
