Love 'em Diane, they are just gorgeous,
Pink Muhley is on my wish list, too, theres a nice sized stand of it that I drive past a few times a week,
and when the sun shines through it ... WOW!!

Is the Clerodendrum vine hardy for you there?

The vine looks like what we call coral vine. Is it the same? Here, the bleeding heart has larger flowers.

Hi, Are you talking about the pink grass being common where you live? If so, I would love to have some seeds. If it is the bleeding heart, would love to have some of those too. I can send some SASE if you send me an e-mail with your address.

Thanks

Diane, can you tell me a bit about the bleeding heart, the cross, etc. I hope it is a memorial of some type. It's beautiful and I will probably want to use it.

Hi Diane,
I looked up the pink muhley grass and it does grow from seed.Collect seeds in late fall-early winter. Wait till plumes turn brown. Run your hand up a stalk and if it comes off then it is ready to pick.
Dry the chaf/seeds a day or so on some newspaper.
fill a plug tray with 1/2 vermiculite & 1/2 peat moss (no soil). plant a nickel size piece in each hole. Keep wet and in full sun outside 2 to 4 weeks.
Each will fill up a 1 gal pot in about 3 months.
Will not flower till the 2nd year.
If you can send me an e-mail to my site so I can have your address to send a SASE I would like to have some started seed.
Thanks,
butterflysue

That's wonderful to know since I had read that most of the ornamental grasses won't start from seeds. The pink muhley is absolutely beautiful--I Googled it and was amazed at the fabulous photos of it. There's one that makes it look like the grass is a waterfall.
