Life expectancy of a purple velvet vine? (purple passion vine)

Recently picked up a purple velvet vine plant (Gynura aurantiaca) to grow indoors and I can't really find any information on how long this plant is expected to live. Will it grow indefinitely (provided it is cared for) or does it only last a year or two?

What causes them to die and is there any way to prevent it other than growing new plants from stem cuttings?

lifespan

No reason it would die that soon. They can just grow indefinitely - but they will look ratty after a while if not cut back - or just start new ones from cuttings.
