Saba, great!
Your seeds that floated to the top may or may not do well. We will find out, and hopefully soon LOL

Hey faeriebritches
Glad you are joining in! And WOW, root sprouts already
Will you take pics and post here?

Flwrs4ever, glad you will join as well. Let us know after GT returns, when you receive your CP seeds and tell us your technique.

So far santoury, Diane, marasri, missg, Saba, faeriebritches & flwrs4ever and myself. Anyone else?

gone_tropical - thanks again for allowing us to experiment via your seeds! Have fun in Germany and try to stay warm.

Okay everyone, lets grow these cardboard palm seeds! Keep us posted.

BTW- I moved mine to my south windowsill as it is a little warmer there getting a little more sun.

Date seeds planted: 1/30/09

Amount of seeds planted: 6, after I took the red skin off, I put back
into water and 4 started to float.

Hours of Soaking: over night

Viable: Possibly 2, only 2 did not float, after red skin was taken off.

Soil: Ferry & Morse seed Starter Mix

Location of seed: 2x3" pots on heat mat & grow lights
On one seed that Floated and one that did not I put,
some Messenger seed treatment, we will see if it helps

Flwrs4ever, I am so sorry, I don't have seeds at the moment. I did not see you wanting some til just now and while I was gone on vacation my resident Mockingbird couple ate all of them (from all three of my palms)
I made a note on my trade list, as soon as i get my hands on seeds (or even a seedling) I will send to you.

Evelyn

I wonder why your resident mocking bird isn't dead. The info on those seeds made them sound bad for man and beast

mara, I don't know, but DH watched them picking those seeds and they are here and alive today. My Mockers love the lantana berries, and aren't those poisonous too?
flwrs4ever, I won't forget and let you know

Okay folks, thought I would check in and give an update on my seeds.

It is been 1 month today since I planted my seeds; no sign of sprouts. Faireybritches, what are yours doing? That is really something they sprouted for you in two weeks? wow.

Others? Have you seen results with your cardboard palm seeds?

Once when I was carrying my 4 month old son to the car, I swore he said "mama, I love you".

I planted my seeds on 1/30/09 still no show,
I like the ideal, of this experiment, this way
it helps me to be patient, and give it time. I have been
times, when I would say I had to have done something wrong.
Then I will start poking around in the soil.
But now I'm in the boat with everyone else.
