wintersowing

Anyone here start wintersowing yet? I have about 10 bottles filled so far and am hoping for lots of good results this spring. I've sowed some tree seeds, rose of sharon, poppies, columbine so far. How about you?

Although, I think I've gotten a late start, I filled about 10 gal jugs filled with soil, this past weekend. And about 3 trays of dirt, waiting on a good plant day. I always check the almanac, to see if its a good day for planting. I worked last weekend, sorting seeds - hope to get seeds in the jugs soon. I have some wonderful flowers received from many of you, and since I still need color in the yard think most of them will be flowers. I planted veggie seeds on 1/31, but still no sprouts yet. I think it's still to cold, but they've been getting sun during the days, so fingers crossed, I'll see signs of sprouts soon. I was wondering if it's too late to start the winter spring?

Hey Angie good to see you back. I will give you a call right after the holiday is over. I did not winter sow this year the regular way. I instead just put seeds on the dirt in the garden where I wanted them to grow and anchored the milk jug on over them. It worked out well for me last year in a trial run and so this year I just went with it. I put down fewer seeds and now I don't have to transplant. Give it a whirl.

Your looking good there angie........
I like the first one sun flower types.
I sure am getting swampy here.. Rain an more rain. Garden drownded last summer, looks like a rerun.

My dogwood finally produce white blooms .. I had lots of iris in bloom , if I aren't too lazy I may upload some to photobucket.
Nice seeing you back.
Some of my indoor seeds did well, Tomatoes, others died before infancy.

Hello Bali

I'm thankful to be able to garden some this year. Last year wasn't good for me, was very ill and almost passed. God has given me another chance and I wanna grow all that I can this year. I'm having back problems though so its difficult to do as much as before. But I will never give up gardening. Am doing alot of pots on porches and also have a veggie garden going. What all do you have growing girl?

Angie,
I am so sorry for your misfortune.. God spared you for a reason. HE WANTS MORE PRETTY FLOWERS.
Glad your well enough to be with us again.
I was trying to upload photos on photobucket an it just stalls??
I would love to show you my mess.. I do get carried away.
My bleeding hearts are just great. So were the allium balls. Snowball bush just finished. Rhodendren was very nice.. Late Hubby drug it out of his familys estate, and it was the only rhod I could get to grow. Deep pink.
Weigla bloomed first time. I have a gorgous poppy to show you an cant get it uploaded.
Who do you use to upload yours?
I have hanging baskets all around the porch , to real large planters with flowers.
A poor excuse garden, onions , tomatoes , cukes ,beets, this time I did sunflowers an squash an pumpkins on the hill where it drains.
I am sure glad you Survived Angie. I think I sent you a card one time.

Bali, yep sure feels good to be able to garden, yours sounds nice as always. I use photobucket, its the only way I was ever able to post to this site. If your having problems check with Zuzu she is very helpful. I used to have problems years ago when I had dialup, boy that sucked.
