Here's a link to the wintersowing site if anyone would like more info on how and what to plant. Great fun!

for summer sowing, check with your county agricultural extension department. Try googling the name of "your county state, planting schedule". I did and got several good charts.

Actually the w'sown site gives both suggestions and which annual plants that are good to start in March. I wish I had done more of my annuals then. Kym told me you can even start your perennials now for next yr. I did mine in Jan. Now today I went out and planted a bunch of my annuals. Going to post pics in w'sowing club of some of the sprouts.

Great idea Kozy! Here's a pic of my Bachelor's Buttons, my first wintersown blooms!

Rt. next to it is my Black Ball Bachelor's Buttons, a dark red, double variety. Can't wait til that blooms!

Thank you. Kozy I was so thrilled with these guys and so proud! You would have thought they were made of gold! And they just keep getting nicer & nicer looking! Now some of the perennials I've planted probably won't bloom this yr. but that's ok. Try any of your annuals, they usually come up quick.

Hmm. I usually wait til Sept.-Oct. to plant Spring blooming bulbs and I'm in zone 6. I guess it depends on what bulbs you are thinking about. Anybody have any advice?

Actually, if she is talking about sowing SEEDS for bulbs, some might want to be planted now. I plant my rain lillie seeds now and my amaryllis seed now when they are fresh and I plant the bulbs from the seed in the fall. I plant bulbs that I buy in the fall. I would research each seed because I would imagine it is different for different families of bulbs.
