Don't think that worked....I don't see the 'poll'?

I like the rock border, wandering path. You just never know what you might see around the corner.

I like over grown, full, cant see the ground because of so many plants. When I look at my new garden, I want to see so much beauty all at once. And its getting there. Theres already one end of it that I can hardly walk in. But, on the other hand I also like a neater looking garden also. Aw heck, I like them all!!!!!!!1

K-but next time give me just one lil ole minute!!
Trying to think of happy thoughts in Australia. Imagining wha I'll do in my next home. Weeding today-looking around at all the things i did in my yard. Its just beautiful (even though a lil crispy at the moment!) I did everything to the landscaping I wanted to do (with a little help). Got my pond, park benches, black link chain, flower beds, peach tree, blue spruce and river birch, poured a second driveway. Row of rose of sharon along both brives (thank you Deb_b for the purple row!) Pool, veggies, berrypatch, dead roses (can't win em all).
I like Scott's idea-winding path. Maybe I'll even have rocks in Australia to build with-that would be awesome-just like michigan!) I'm thinking gazebo this time. Maybe fruit orchard. Misty canopy for those 110* days? With some bizarre tropicals around the porch.
I can dream!

I try to keep my plantings grouped together by variety.Sometimes it works and sometimes it does'nt. I am not as careful at matching my plants by size , so it is a regular thing for me to transplant-transplant. Variety of colors is most pleasing to me.

Mine are a combination of cottage and southern kitsch.
I love mass plantings of a flower, and areas that look like they have been there forever.
I know,that reads chaos,huh? LOL

Well, I did the chaotic, varying heighth and color flowers in neatly trimmed flowerbeds here at this house. Its a lot of work to keep it going but I do love it. However, I'm starting to appreciate the "mass planting" of a single plant. I'm thinking more of a simpler yard with a few eye catchers-like I mentioned-maybe a gazebo or something.
I saw a house that had a big statue on a platform in the center of a circular brick flowerbed with some kind of white flower covering the circle around the statue. Brick was red. It was very attractive.
I'm even considering maybe a fountain. Anytime I do anything-I tend to do it big. Very visionary. Love to look at a completed big project that noone could quite imagine except me-and I made it happen. Its a charge. That's the great thing about gardening and landscaping. Sharing the vision (and also the work-hee hee!)

Awwwwwww isnt that sweet?????? This is a great place and for some reason easy to connect here. The people are awesome!!
Diane, my husband swears that I am trying to get one or two of every plant out there!!! He was going to buy me 4 burning bushes and I said, no, I already have those. Dont know what I'm going to do when I actually do have it all........go on to the rare plants I guess? When I go to the garden center, I scan all the plants for whatever I dont already have.

I'm glad the Rose of Sharon made it for you and you had enough to do the driveway like you wanted.
As for me. I love many colors, many plants. Anything to do with gardening. I'm in the process of making a really big flower bed. HUGE. My whole front yard to be exact. I'm tired of weeding due to mowing. So it's becoming a flower paradise. There will be old wooden and steel wagon wheels, old hand plow, old horse drawn hay rake, marble walkways ( slippery when wet ), windchimes, windsocks, birdhouses, statues, rocks, and so on. As I said, a really big flowerbed. It probably won't be finished for another year or 2, but I'm working on it. I got alot done already. I need more truckloads of mulch this year. Just to make a start. I will post some pic's as I get a chance. Hopefully before my next surgery.

Smile

I love the country look. It's so warm and welcome. I don't want anyone to step on my plants but I want friends and family to feel they are welcome to enjoy what I'm doing.

I also like chaos, it goes with the territory!
