Shannon, HI
Geez sorry to hear about your home, I was in a place once where I knew I would not be staying for long so what we did here was built moveable flats, well more like rectangler dirt filled planters kept them on saw horses was really easy to move and all was well with the plants just an Idea, I guess it really depends on what you would wanna do or to what lengths you wanna go to have a garden or to save your own. Hope it helps good luck Jes

Shannon,
I would suggest that you look up the managers of McDonalds , Wendy's , and Burger King , and ask them if they would be willing to sell you some five gallon pickle containers . I have bought them for as little as $.50 to $1.00 each . Filled with a potting mix they are still easy to handle and move around . I drilled six 1/4" holes in the bottoms and left them white or green . I started a couple orchards this way . They are an economical system to use and take up little room when empty .
Hope this may help you ,
Bill
