Question about rooting in water

I went out and cut a twig off of my pussy willow. It has just started getting roots on it. How much longer should I leave it in the water? Do I take it out now when its just starting to get roots? Wait till a little later after its gotten a few more? I dont want to leave it in there too long. I'm afraid it may start going bad if I do that. I figured somone on here would know what I should do. Since your all so knowledgable about this stuff.
Thanks
Deb

Leave it in....

Give it a few weeks or even months. It won't die. It will grow into a little bush and be very healthy with a good root system. Then take it out and plant it outdoors when there's no frost or indoors and aclimate it.
Good job!

Oh thank you so much for answering. I didnt want to kill the poor little thing and didnt know which way to go with it. I'll just leave it until I think it looks healthy enough to go outside when the weathers better.

Your actually the one who inspired me to try this. I saw on here where you were talking about taking cuttings and rooting them. So, I decided to try it. And to my surprise it worked!!! Thanks so much!!!!!!
