Postage rates....

Is it just me or is postage getting just stupid!!!! I sent one little tiny cluster of walking onion and she told me she had to pay another 75 cents. It shocked her because she said it didnt way anything to her. It was maybe the size of a quarter or a little larger. Crazy!!!

Just think, someone is working on one of those StarTrek transports somewhere, and then the USPS can raise it's rates all they want.

Postage has kept going up due in part to the internet. Can you image trying to keep people together and talking about plantings(as we are doing now) with just the postal system to carry the envelopes!?!? They would be rich, and that's the problem now....they are becoming more broke everyday.

Last week I got two "brown envelopes" from the mailman to deposit coins in my mailbox to cover mail that didn't have enough postage. 17 cents and 31 cents. GET REAL! The envelopes each had 2 packets of seed in them! Nothing heavier than three sheets of paper or a hallmark card!!

I just hope people dont get mad at me. I asked the mail man why that was and he told me they charge extra if it wont fit into the slot machine they use. They charge to "hand process" GOOD GRIEF !!!! I will just pay it here when it comes but will add another stamp to my mailings.

me too

I have had quite a few, my mailman puts the brown envelope in my box with the charge I owe. I know alot of times I write hand cancel on mine, so I guess I may be sending pkgs. out short. I don't mind when I owe 30-50 cents here and there. I do not want others to get mad if I did not have enough postage on. Pm me if I short shipped, I will fix it for ya!

When I mail my seeds out I always take them directly to post office and have them tell me how much I owe because it seems to change constantly, even if it's a small padded envelope with just 2 seed packs in. Never consistent.
