I take mine to the post office to be sure. I would also use a small bubble envelope for them. If you dont use bubble envelope sometimes they get ripped open in the mail. I'm sure others will have suggestions for you too.

I agree with Deb, I use bubble envelopes, or a sleeve of bubblewrap inside a regular envelope,
but this makes the envelope too thick to qualify for regular 1st class postage.

I go to the PO and let them calculate the exact amount.

I use the bubble envelopes...I get mine at the dollar store. 2 for $1 - the 8 x 10 size...somewhere along that size. AND on the front and back of the envelope I put "hand cancel please." That way they aren't supposed to go through the machines. It's always been less than $2 for postage and I send any where from 6 - 12 rooted plants with wet paper towels and wrapped in syran wrap.

Get the envelopes on sale. Mine are green, blue, red, orange...I love bright colors.

I seal seeds in an envelope, fold it into thirds, and slip it into another addressed envelope and ship it with a first class stamp. This always does well. (Unless, of course, someone at the postoffice thinks two seed swapping girls are doing something illegal and decides for Homeland Security's sake that they MUST take a look inside and therefore cut into both sealed envelopes. Isn't that right Deb? Just remembering the morning glory seeds-crazy post office!)
