pond plants

Jes,
First, I would like to ask you a couple of questions. Is this a natural pond? And second, is this your first spring, summer with this pond? If the answers are yes then I would wait and see what grows there. If theres fish in the pond then there has to be plants in there also. I would just about bet that theres already water lilies in there and some other cool things also. I dont see many bodies of water that dont naturally have water lilies in them around here and would assume its the same where you live? But I would wait and see what grows this season and then if you want to add to it next year you have an idea of what is already there so you dont end up putting the same things in that you already have. If you go to a garden center that has pond plants theres many choices in flowering plants, water lily, water iris, etc. When I go look at them I get overwhelmed theres so many to choose from. The thing I do is google pond plants, make a choice, then when I get to the garden center I know exactly what I want. And dont forget when your buying them that they will probably at least double in size during one season. Some of the plants even triple in size. And I dont mean just getting taller, I mean there will be much, much more of it before the season is over. Well, that's my 2 cents. LOL Dont know if it helps or not but I tried.
