Peonies

Any advice on propagating peonies, should the roots be dug up, should I leave the foliage on or cut it off?

Thanks

I'd like to know also.

I have about 4 bushes, never thought about this, my guess would be you need to divide with part of the root and plant. I never had much luck with rooting stuff in water.I tried a couple things and just got slimy. Anyone have advice?

They need to be dug and separated. I have always chopped them apart like you do with hosta.

I would do it now - just cut the foilage down, although I don't know if it is actually the correct time. (I kinda just do things when they are convenient for me).
