discount

I talked with a guy that works at lowes, since I have become a regular there, and he told me they go by what the weather is like, also, there is a lowes about 1/2 hr away and they may not have the same sale. You got to keep going back like once a week I do so I can get the sale. Last fall the guy gave me a tip said come back in a week and instead of 50% it would be 75% you betcha!!!!!!!

Lowes Clearance Rack

Hi, I live on the stateline and go to a nearby Lowes in both Arkansas and Oklahoma. These Lowes always have racks of plants they mark down really low. I've got big hanging baskets for $1.00, 6 packs of annuals for 25 cents, & nice gallon perennials for 50 cents or less. Usually these racks are in the front of the gardening sections, but sometimes in the very back. I've asked the gardening manager why they always mark their plants down and other places don't. He said some places can send the old plants back to where they bought them and receive a credit for even the dead ones. He said Lowes only has a few of their vegetable plants that they send back, the rest they try to get rid of.

Discount

Okay - I'm going to have to ask Lowe's this because I love discounted plants. Last year I got a white crepe myrtle for $3. Took it home and was able to split it into 2 ($1.50 a plant). This spring one of them has so many leaves on it it's really amazing. The other plant doesn't have anything on it yet but when I scrap the bark...it's still green underneath.

Yep, love those marked down plants.

Lowe's

You have to love a store that has a great variety and marks down their plants! I've gotten several things over the yrs. at great prices. I picked up a beautiful multi colored Lantane last yr. there but have not been able to find any others yet.

SmileLowes

You no what else I haven't done this yet, but Lowes is supposed to actually give you a 1yr guarentee on the plants they sell as long as you have the receipt, but I am not sure if they do on clearance plants.

Well today was the day to be at Lowes in my neck of the woods!!! I actually stopped to get some stakes for my tomato plants and happened by a clearance rack of perennials. They did look a little worse for wear but I could see their potential. Guess how much? Everything was............ $1. Yes I did say one dollar. I am so excited and I owe it to this site. I am a die-hard clearance shopper but had never thought that there were actually clearances at the garden center on plants. Now I know and do I have a big project for this weekend!!! Glad it is going to be hot and sunny.

you are all so lucky. 'my' Lowes discounts 50 % at the most, but has the discount shelves sitting in full sun with not care whatsoever. So one day at 90F, and that is it. Who wants to spend $10 for a burnt to a crisp phal
I guess it really depends on the garten dept. manager and the crew to care for the plants and ours would need to be fired. all of them!

Pa Lowes

Checked out my lowes yesterday, they had grapes, figs, and tropical hibiscus. All for 50% off. I had bought a couple grapes in early spring, never ate a fig, and I would kill the poor hibiscus come fall. Oh well I will check back in a week or two.

Figs are delicious!! Anyway - I went to the pond store today to get some plants for my poor fish to hide under see we are under a severe heat warning hear (heat index to reach 110 degrees). As I'm waiting for the kid to get the plants that I want out of the pond I see this adorable plant growing in and around the rocks. I think in looks like some sort of sedum so I ask if they sell any of it. He says oh that's just a weed and if I want some just take some and he will get me a bag for it. Well I was pretty sure it wasn't a weed and even if it was I thought it would look nice around my pond. So I start pulling it out. Of course I could have spent an hour but didn't want to give them the idea that it wasn't a weed so I took some, my pond plants and left. Well lo-and-behold it is a sedum, 'Hillebrandt' and it is even flowering. Something to be said about the nursery workers who don't know much!!
