I had not made one up to now, but I think I will make one to pull some weeds at least once a week starting in the Spring. I let the beds get overrun last year and then spent massive day long efforts to compensate. I don't want to do that again.

Since I started this topic, guess I'd better resolve to do something

I resolve to practice more of what I preach. I am great at giving out gardening advice , but too often, don't follow my own recommendations which basically "go by the books".
I also resolve to make my garden more interesting year around, not just during spring thru fall, by planting more hardy and evergreen plants so the garden won't loook so desolate in winter.

I've been working on my new years resolution to put in more flowerbeds.
I managed to get about 200 sq. ft. maybe a little more than that top layer off,
double dug, newspaper put down, compost on top and ready for some pine needle mulch. 400 or 500 more sq. ft to go for that spot.

Oooo... Digging up grass... My favorite middle of the summer, do it in 98F degree weather activity!

Congrats on your new beds.
