TalkingGardening Book Exchange

Hey everybody I would like to propose a gardening book exchange similar to the root jar exchange that missg organized recently.

So far missg and I are both signed up. I would like to keep this thread open to anyone that wants to sign up until May 31st. Once I have everyones info then I'll post a message here letting you all know who your swap buddy will be.

Any books on gardening, plants, DIY garden projects, garden crafts etc... would be perfect to swap.

When you send the PM to me tell me what you are planning to swap so that I can prevent anyone from getting the same book they are giving.

Let the fun begin!

I was thinking swap one for one. If you want to add extras I'm sure they would be appreciated. If all goes well maybe it can be a recurring exchange.

Magazines-

Now that is a GREAT idea. I usually send my magazines in a box with a trade when I'm done with it but they are so expensive and I can only afford like 2 subscriptions. I would love to swap them. That way I can read two for one. I just got a June 'Country Home' magazine that I'll be done with in a few days. I also subscribe to BH&G. If you want to stick to just a book swap, I'd love to just find one person to swap my magazine with each month. Or if someone wants to buy a mag off the stand for themselves and then swap so I can read it too, I'm game!
As far as books, I only use a few- namely the ones by Nancarrow. I think he's great. I'll thumb through the library if I take my kids up there but I try not to accumulate too many things since we will be moving in the next couple years.
If this doesn't go anywhere and you get a magazine in a swap that I send you-plz share the blessing with one of your swap buddies. Even older mags about gardening are great to read!
Tell me what you think Anita!

Swap

ok_nurse. If you would rather substitute a stack of magazines for a book I am sure that would be fine. If anyone has any objections please let me know.

trumpetvine, I have you down for the exchange. This will be open to everyone that wants to sign up until the end of May.

I will PM everyone at the begining of June to make sure that I have everyones book title and then I'll send you another PM with your swap buddy's name.

Thanks to you all for joining up.

Magazines-

I think I'm gonna bow out of this one cause I am currently giving away all my seminary books . Some of those have cost me painfully, and I never thought I'd be getting rid of them, but I can't afford to send anything to Australia when we move in a couple years. I'm trying to find a way to get my heirloom furniture over there and it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to do it so I'll try to keep just a few items here in a storage unit and pay monthly until I can afford the few thousand dollars its going to take to transport them. I have a huge amount of stuff to downsize to nothing but two luggage pieces. I was thinking magazines cause I can toss them and not feel bad, but I gotta stop accumulating.
Thanks for understanding.
