Unhappythe effects of gardening on your hands & feet

I just turned 30 in december, and have the hands of someone that's 60. I try creams, lotions, all sorts of things, but none really work! My hands & feet are so dry with small cracks and the dirt stains them---I don't do gloves unless it has thorns-------and I live in flipflops, I grew up on the beach what can I say!!! I found some wonderful foot scrub that made my feet look my age again, but I ran out and it cost 50.00---Does anyone have some miracle healer or anything they use?

Get an Avon catalog and buy you some Avon Moisture Therapy Lotion. Its the one in the blue bottle.

or

I use the one in the first link. The 1.89 bottle. It actually helps with my rosacea outbreaks.
Only lotion I'll ever use!

Apply at night and let it work all night. Guarantee you'll still feel its effects in the morning!

Best lotion in the world. I know because I've always worked with my hands and used to have the same problem as you are describing. Don't know about the feet, but I'm pretty sure it'll work for them too.

If you want a sample, let me know. I'll put some in a plastic bag and mail it to you like we do the plants here.. lol

LOL It's ok... you're probably right.

In fact, I just ordered some more myself. Got me $15 worth. Should last about a year. Of course, I use it a lot.

Let me know once you get it. I'm sure you're gonna love it!

We just had this conversation on 4/1 in garden talk under "hand help" if you would like other suggestions. You may find something there you can try as well. I came back from New Mexico with some pretty abused hands after getting cacti over spring break! I can relate to your dilemma!

cracks

I put a generous amount of vaseline (cheap) on hands & feet after my bath & when I get ready for bed, then put a pair of white socks over hands & a pair on feet & sleep in them, Take off in a.m & hands & feet feel like new. Do this every 2 weeks or so on regular bases & cracks & rough skin will be like a babies skin. Sure works for me & I am doing yard work constantly. pushin

My moms doctor used to have her do the same thing with the vasaline. She was a diabetic and it helped her.

I just cut a leaf off of one of my aloe vera plants and slather it over my skin when it needs some TLC. I've found that the fresh stuff works much better than the gels you can buy in the store.
