colors named???????

I don't know why alot of flowers are named "blue", when to me they are purple? This has always puzzled me cause I love blue, and something will say its a blue flower and when I look at it sure does look purple to me?

True blue is very difficult to get, bachelor's buttons get a nice blue, and so do delphiniums....and a few others, but most flowers just don't, so they'll call anything that's close a "blue"---I think just to get people to buy it...because everyone is looking for a good blue.

I have a blue potato bush but its purple. I wish I had one of those blue delphinium those a beauty

i do have one that is still young and yes it so blue and gogeous!! those bachlor buttons wow electric blue! When my delphinium gets bigger and needs seperation i will post it but i dont know how long thast will take. i tried to get seeds this year but my dog knocked it over before it was fully mature,,he almost didnt make it past that day+ he was almost a goner,,but i spared him. if they make it this year i will get some seeds for yall
