Congratulations on your victory! It is refreshing that this was taken seriously by the law. You should however contact the local paper and find someone there that will print a little something of your story in the paper....perhaps even write a letter to the editor. Just a thought, might embarrass them a bit. LOL

You should be so proud that you went the distance and truly fought this for all of us plant folks that have had people think they could help themselves to our property!!!

Again, thank you and congratulations

Congratulations to this victory you won not just for yourself, but as you said for all of us! I had bromeliads stolen, my plumerias cut half way down, branches broken off the flowering camellia, and on and on... so I feel I won with you.
Each such victory will help win similar cases in the future!!!

And that is a GREAT idea by Gardeningmom, contact the newspaper, or better, the local tv channel!!

Heartfelt congratulations

SmileJustice Has Been Served!

I'm so happy for you!!! I can't believe they said they were related to you. I guess they got scared & relized that they were in deep dodo when they couldn't get that to work for them, so they said they would do what's right(maybe not in their mind) & pay just to have it droped & avoid a bigger mess. So how much are they going to end up paying you?

Flowerdazed,

Congratulations on your victory. I am so glad that they made restitution. I hope that you are now feeling relieved and vindicated.

By the way, did they apologize to you and accept responsibility? .... Just wondering....

Again, congrats!

Glad that you only softened up for a short period. And the nerve of her to insinuate that you are related to her, in a letter no less.
And to get an assistant DA that grows hydrangeas, someone must have been looking over you.

Congrats!!!!Actually I am grateful to know you softened.. even for a lil bit.. it shows me great compassion in you, and that is a plus for your character!!! BUT...LOL.. I am glad you remembered why you were there and carried this to the end!! You are to be admired for that!! In a way, I wish you'd gone to court. Adding purgery to the theft and trespassing might have put at least the Momma in jail, and added a hefty fine too. I do understand you being on pins and needles and just wanted this to end. I'm sure, I would have done the same thing you did! I am utterly amazed that they didn't seek you out, profusely apologize to you, and then kiss your feet!! Congrats again.. I'm sooo happy for you!!

Congratulations on your victory. I can't believe they tried to perpetuate lies! Actually, I can believe it and hopefully they will steer clear from your garden in the future!

Hi mara, yes, the depth of their hole was becoming quite deep.

Thanks gardeningmom! That is a thought contacting the editor but I think I'll keep it as a thought. :0 And yes, the law did take it quite seriously for which I'm so glad and thankful for.

Hey GT! thanks so much for the kind words, and yes, this win was for all of you

Hello Rosebud - thanks sweetie! Yes, the duo really did a stupid thing in writing to the court. I still cannot believe it. Bet they thought I was taking them all the way. I just didn't want to drag this thing out in court as it took this long to come this far.

Hi mp - thanks my friend! Yes, I am now feeling much better about the situation and glad this is over. There was a point today that I was considering dropping the case as I became weak and didn't think I could go thru with it. I told my friend who was a witness, and she suggested I pull out the pictures I brought and look at them again. It worked like a charm, got all fired up again at that point. But I am glad it is over.

Hi grumpy, I know. Got total vindication. Yes, these people had nerve to say the least. I just found out my friend saw a letter on loose sleeve paper and terrible penmenship and thinks it was 'the letter' when she got called in to give her account of what happened. She said it looked liked child's play. Thanks for your support.

Hi beck
Awwh, thanks. I wanted to do the right thing here and be fair even tho they (the duo) didn't give a rat's A-- the lengths they went to steal my beautiful stems. Apologize? Are you kidding? When I saw the daughter after she went to the bank and returned with a cashier's check, I stared her down and she did not even flinch, wouldn't look my way or anything. I did say to her in passing that she owed me an apology. One I will never get but got them where it really hurts. Bet they will think twice before they commit a crime of this manner again. And yes, it would have really been bad for them not to mention probably three times the amount they forfeited today had I taken them thru the court process. I saved them money, a record, community service not to mention the aggravation of coming back to court and dealing with that for one day, maybe even jail time, who knows.

Hi greenlab, I really don't think they will try this again, at least not at my house. They would be beyond stupid if they did.

Here's to all who have been so kind and have given me continued support thru these months.

Landscape your front garden with an electric fence. When you see sparks fly you'll know someone tried to take your flowers again.

Congratulations FD I am happy for you that you won.

I don't know that I would of let them off the hook so easily. Especially when the daughter had a attitude and the mother lied on top of everything else. Lets just hope that they have learned their lesson.

Congratulations Flowerdazed. What a couple of idiots. I'm glad they paid, though nothing could really make up for the beauty lost. Paid? Hey, I think we may be cousins too. LOL...well we all really are at least 50th cousins...(I read that somewhere)...anyway, I'm glad for your victory cuz!
Frank.

Hi mr,
Thanks! I know, an act of kindness on my part kicked in, what can I say.
And as far as I see it, they did get off the hook quite easily by me, both monaterily (ph ?) and criminally. And as I said earlier, this would have cost them bunches more than what they paid me had I gone the distance. Let's hope they learned a valuable lesson here, for their own sake.

Hi beck
Thanks again. I'll be sure to show my re-do come spring.

Hey cousin Frank
Thanks, yep, real idiots for sure. Thanks for your interest and concern.
