QuestionCan anyone help me identify

I am looking for the name of an annual vine that a past neighbor used to grow. It had heartish shaped leaves and would flower something similar to wisteria type flowers and then make the darkest purple seed pods (pea pod shape). This vine grew very quickly and was just beautiful. You would then save the seeds from the pods for planting next year.

I am interested in the name and if anyone would have seeds for trade or postage.

thanks

That sure sounds like "Hyacinth Bean" (Dolichos lablab), G'mom.

You're quite welcome, I'm glad that I guessed right.

I have a seedling Hyacinth Bean vine growing right now which I need to get into the ground,
so I should have some seeds/beans to share later this summer, if you haven't already found seeds by then ...
... and IF I get the little guy planted before I kill him
(I was VERY ambitious with the seeds this season, and now I'm struggling to get everything planted).
