Build it and they will come!

I am talking about the simplest thing in the world you can do to draw birds and nature to your yard - and it doesn't cost a penny (except for the seed). We took a large clear plastic juice jug, cut out a section on one side, stuck a dowel through the bottom section for a landing perch, punched holes near the neck and hung it from a tree with bird seed in it and do we ever have a thriving bird restaurant business going - Purple Finches, Morning Doves, Chickadees, Cardinals, Red Wing Blackbirds, and Wrens. The birds love the clear plastic because they can go inside and see through to reassure them there is no danger outside. In the photo gallery, there are several pictures of the visitors to our "cheepie" and "cherpie" bird feeders.

Very clever Bob. We've got birds nesting all around our house as it is though. I think if I built one of those, the pidgeons would never leave!
