Wow those plants popped up so great but you will need a larger/taller oven if you really want to knock our socks off.

That is too cute! I wonder what my husband would think if I did that to one of the piles of dirt in the yard!

I imagine that one could do it out of hugelkulture, or however you spell it. Gardening on piles of rotten logs and dirt.

The Giant's Head

The basis of this sculpture is an upturned tree-root
Clay is then built up over it
Skin is 'Mind-your-own-business' plant (Helxine soleirolii)
The hair is made of Crocosmia
The eyes are made of broken china and glass

I bet Marasri would jump all over some good clay dirt if she isn't into yankee haze. Or I bet SL could cut her a great deal on some swampland!
I think the thing is just too awesome, and I am looking at angles to try something similar.
Assuming you did this over a septic system, you would always know where it is located, but if you have the type that has to be pumped, then there will be hell to pay come time to empty the thing.
I have one of those great big terra cotta pipes they used to use in our area for water and septic. I'd say it is 2 1/2 feet tall by 2 feet in diameter. I always thought it would be neat to have some way of making my plants look like Mario going down the pipe. (Video junkies at my house). I just can't find a way to do it.
