Something is stripping my roses of leaves overnight

At first i thought it was bunny because i have several scampering around and it was all young roses that were about two feet high, i started as cuttings last year, but i noticed, when i went outside after work this eve, that one of my giant 6 ft tall plus roses, had one cane completely naked, way too tall for a bunny.

do you think sulphur would slow down the unknown attacker?

and do you think the young roses will recover even with all the leaves stripped?

I have this problem every year.. it maybe what is called a Lubber!
It looks like a grasshopper...they start off green and end up black with yellowish stripes..they are so hard to get rid of..they multiply like wildfire. They will destroy
everything in your yard. If you see one make sure you kill it..because nothing we have tried has worked to rid them.
Pray you find the cause! LMK! Blessings

Give the roses some Epsom salt, it should help with recovery. I'm glad we don't have those now I think we used to but I'm not sure. Good luck, Diane is right, pray about it. Also, I thi m they move on somewhere else after a while. I've put red pepper, water or powder on the leaves of some of me plants to deter hoppers. Maybe this would help you.
