I also have these things in my cannas. I have tried cutting them back and have used different kinds of sprays and dust nothing seems to work, now I have decided since they are making my plants look ugly, I am going to cut them down & dig the roots up this fall, if anyone is interested in them, please let me know. They are the yellow ones.
