Bad news,good news.
Bad news is that there is no good news. Those little buggers are the next thing to cockroaches. When everything is dead and dieing they and the roaches will be partying.
The best defense is a coffee can with water and dish detergent in it,along with diligence. You have to patrol the area and pop the buggers into the can, over and over again.
I have spent a lifetime trying to find a solution to get rid of them, without any success. Whoever does find a sure-fire control for them will never have to work another day in their lives.
Wish I could give you a solution to your problem , but I can only feel your pain and frustrations.
Bill

I don't know how big you property is but if it's a manageable size I have been very luck with the beetle bags. BUT you must hang them far away from vegetation that you don't want eaten. What people don't understand is the bags ATTRACT the beetles. They have a mating hormone sent in them and when the beetles fly to them they fall in the bag and can't get out. The other issue is they are the mature grub. So you really need to treat your lawns for grubs. It really is a never ending process and I don't think they can ever be eliminated. Along with Dirty's hands on approach this process should help control their feasting somewhat. Good Luck.
