Wow! I see what you mean. That IS way too many in one place. If I lived closer to you I'd come help you come deer season. Up here alot of the farmers have trouble with wild hogs tearing up their fields too. They trap, if they can catch them, and either sell them or have them processed. I've never seen one nor had any on my land that I know of but tried some of the meat a lady gave me and it was deeeelicious! Breakfast sausage, pork chops and smoked sausage. Love the free range, wild game taste.

My neighbor put a hog trap in my ravine. They have been tearing things up around here, also. Central Texas supposedly has the most deer anywhere per mile and western Travis county is supposed to have the most deer in Central Texas, SO THEREFORE, Looks like we got the most deer per mile in the country. That is an honor that someone else had. They are a multitude of horned rats in my book. I do not like to handle guns but my husband loves to shoot up our trash , but he does not like to shoot live things. In his head he would like to, but the reality is he would rather shoot my wind chime and an old skill saw. I am thinking that I need to get over my hang up and get ready for hunting season.

I didn't know that about Central Texas deer (HRs, hehehe). Interesting!

Wild hogs are dangerous. Be careful!

I noticed this is an old post but I'd like to respond anyway. If you go to www.purplehull.com & click on purplehulls then on deer control, there's a diagram of an electric fence (if looks aren't important). We use electric fencing. I've noticed people are using the white grocery bags again this year so maybe they work? My husband's friends have tin cans throughout the garden & around the perimeter with human urine. They swear this works.
