Frozen Camellias in New Orleans

I know camellias like cold weather but this is ridiculous!

Oh those are gorgeous. And the icy on them only enhances their beauty.

But more blooms will come and you will still have a glorious display of beauty. I just love that bush and the color is so vivid and happy; sort of like a party. Hope some day to have one to call my own.

This one was planted about 10 years ago. I have one on either side of my front porch that I have truly enjoyed especially in winter when there's not much blooming. I hope you get one to enjoy, too!

Can they be grown from a cutting, do you know? My son has a bush in the back of his yard in NC that is just beautiful. Not as fabulous as yours is, but beautiful non the less. His is a pale pink color but when I was there last year, it was just overloaded with flowers and blooms. If I got a cutting - would it grow?

That is fantastic and the directions are clear and easy to follow. So I guess the next time I am down in NC visiting my son, I will be out in his garden taking cuttings. Now all I have to remember is that I must be there between June and Jan. I appreciate your taking the time to find these directions for me.

Gorgeous!
Maybe they are not that frozen and they will recover nicely?
I had one, but I'm guessing it wasn't a hardy one - completely frozen after the first winter.

Beautiful shots of your camellias cf! Yes, ice we did have, underscoring the word did; hopefully. Won't the buds be okay? I have two potted camellias I'm growing. I've had them for one year now. They are covered with buds too and none have opened of yet. I'm hoping they will have made it thru this ice.
