Anticipation ...

If this isn't anticipation or the arrival of a bloom, I don't think nothing isas I'm seeing just the very tip of color!

Gloriosa Rothschild soon to show!

Stay tuned!

Nice. Can you cope with all the stress?

I've got some roots in a pot but still haven't come up yet... and you've got buds!

Thanks y'all! Can anyone relate?
Today she is beginning to show.

May be the red/yellow combo, hmmmm.
Hopefully tomorrow will tell.

calin, did you plant tubers of gloriosas? A good friend sent me Gloriosa tubers not very long ago. I tried several in a pot, and the rest in ground. One came up in the pot. I then transferred her to the ground, and soon after, she died. The bud you see were tubers directly planted in the ground. I have since planted more tubers in ground around that one. I put some in larger pots. There are a few coming up in the larger pots but this time I will let those grow there and not disturb them.

Late this evening she made her turn upwards!

I was somewhat concerned there for a while thinking she may not. Can you tell this is the first time I am growing Gloriosa Rothschildiana?

That is just awesome. I agree that time lapes photos would be amazing but you have captured the essence of the flower so well that I can almost see it unfolding. Great job.

thanks deeka and Swamplady! I've been wanting to grow them for a while now and finally this spring had the opportunity thanks to a generous friend!
I'd love to have and grow the purple and yellow gloriosa!

thanks fearadyn & tess! Yeah feara, try that out, interesting to follow and see! I'm wondering if my gloriosa bloom will fade to purple/yellow from the red/yellow status? Anyone know? Guess I'll just have to wait and see.
