Okay Sadiemae, here are more from my collection, as you requested!
Glad you saw the 'hairs' as well.

Justicia brandegeana - green shrimp plant

A bit confusing as Dave's garden has green shrimp plants listed under Brown's Blechum. That is why I wanted to show the card.

Justicia brandegeana - 'Fruit Cocktail' shrimp plant
It looks as tho I have a few varieties of the red shrimp plant as well.

Justicia brandegeana - red shrimp plant
I surely would like to find the creeping blue shrimp plants, as well as the blue shrimp plants, corinthe major along with the white shrimp plant, (justicia betonica) to complete my shrimp plant collection.

Beautiful pics and plants. The fruit cocktail looks like a fish sticking his tongue out!

oh I love the green and fruit cocktail. My red one freezes every year but comes back. but my yellow freezes and never comes back this is the third year in a row I've had to replace it. This year I kept it in a pot to bring in when it freezes.

Hi maryataylor, very nice plants. I'll have to research to see if they are indeed in the shrimp family. Pretty! Interesting that your fruit cocktail and reds survive your freeze but not your golds. Hmmm, we are in the same plant zone so I will have to take heed. Thanks

GOE & deek, looks like I started something here. Boy, I sure do know how that feels too. Shrimp plants are very pretty plants for sure and I am thoroughly enjoying growing them. They have been blooming all summer and even now in the latter part of Sept. I think they have a strong potential for addiction. I purchased some of mine from local nurseries, others from plant shows or gardeners selling plants in my area. I'll have to start cuttings, oh boy, that means making more room to store them in the winter. I'll keep you both in mind for cuttings okay?
