Hi I am Tracie and I am 30 years old in York PA. I believe I am in zone 7A but I am in a transitional area so I am not sure. This is my first year gardening and it is wonderful! I am having a great time.

I am battling squirels and groundhogs and I believe I am winning as I have enlisted the help of my husband to hunt them down! I have also been sprinkling cayenne on my late planted squirrel ravaged sunflowers . I have neighborly dogs who have ran through my flower beds and I have trained them not too! They have also peed on my newly planted shrubs! It has been a tough battle so I am here for reinforcements!

So glad you joined us. Many of us have similar struggles with neighborly varmints. We are in a drought here in Oklahoma and every stray animal and wild animal for a mile around wants to take a dip in my pond! The koi are not that friendly. Its hard to get mad when pets that are lost have no water. Its just frustrating to deal with.

Hi Tracie I'm from Pa also approx. 60 miles north of Philly and I'm in zone 6a. Yea the varmints can be something else, have been battling bunnies & groundhogs. Glad you found us, enjoy!

Mandy, how is the weather there? I saw on the news tonight that they saw some spiral clouds in your area. I hope all is well. We have be getting some severe thunderstorms since about 2 a.m. but nothing damaging.

Gardeningmom our area didn't get it as bad as south Philly did. We had some bad storms but it wasn't even steady rain. I think we actually had more steadier rain over night. Thanks for asking. Tracie how did your area do?
