Unsure if there is a process to speed it up,
We had our first set of banannas this year, however something weird happened tothe stock during a storm, and it was blown over and never recovered. Lost those.
An old friend told us to keep them thinned out. He also said it takes 18months without a cold spell before they will produce. Our winters here in S. TX wasnt too bad last year, nut we started thinning them,& using some of the leaves as a layer of mulch, not sure it that's why they started producing or not. I ckecked the bananna forum on PS, and its pretty much dead. S we tried what our friend suggested, and got bannanas give it a try, mind you my bannaa are @ the back of our property, sitting at the top of the cities drainage ditch, when it rains we take a village pump & pumped the water up the hill to bannas ach time it rained. that is the only new thing besides thinning we did.
