TalkingH. lacunosa blooms!

Look what I found this afternoon on my Hoya lacunosa! My first ever Hoya blooms! I'm terribly excited, and they smell so nice

Oh, and please excuse the poor quality photo- my camera is in need of repair, so I'm stuck using my bleepin' phone for pics. Yuck.

Good morning all! I checked it again this morning, and boy does it smell nice I've heard it's like lilacs, but I've never smelled a lilac, so I don't know how true that is. It IS a very 'flowery' type smell. I have about 20 more peduncles in different stages of development, so when this bloom is spent, another should be ready to open. I'll have blooms for weeks this way lol

Well, all the carnosa blooms are gorgeous- they typically have a red or dark pink center, and the outside part varies from white to pink. I think it's more pink with more sun, but I could be wrong. I've not had any blooms on my carnosas yet. I have a Krimson Queen and a Krimson Princess- this one is also called a Rubra by Exotic Angel. Both turn pinkish on the variegation with lots of light, which I LOVE.

This is a closeup from last years bloom. Do you recognize the cultivar? Has green shiny thick leaves.

Hmmm.... It is not one I recognize, but from your description, it must be the true carnosa. I don't have that one- very neat! Do they smell good?
