hairy golden shrimp plant
Actually, I had my reading glasses on while out in the garden and spotted the tendrils or what ever that is, thought hair at first and pulled it Interesting what I can see with my reading glasses on At any rate, it definitely put a smile on my face.

Mazus pumilus, in the Scrophulariaceae (snapdragon family) a common introduced weed. Hope this helps.

To give you more of an idea of size, the #5 marker is no more than an inch. The blooming weed is right in front of the marker, if you look closely.

I was so grateful and happy to see this today and most definitely put a big smile on my face! as I was concerned I wouldn't see them again as there was no sign of life until this morning.

Carribean Lilies are returning
And if I am correct that it's them, this is what they will look like come early April of next year.

I thought my poor weedy garden didn't produce much this year... but when I went out to gather the carrots, I found two cucumbers had actually grown on my cucumber plant!!! Yay, I was so excited.

Also... carrots... lots and lots of carrots, orange carrots, yellow carrots, red carrots, purple carrots, white carrots.... but all looking like "baby carrots". Except for the round ones.... no carrots over 3'' long! I wonder why? Extremely loose, fertile soil, but still, short carrots... my guess is too wet?

Thanks Diane! I was so hoping it would return but did not know until I saw that. I'm thrilled!

Hi Beth,
I'm glad your heirloom tomato put a smile on your face honey. So glad you find plenty to smile about!

Nightshade - nice surprise for you seeing cucumbers! Glad you are seeing carrots even if they are small. I love baby carrots and find they have a better taste than the larger ones.

wbf- is that a spider lily? Very nice!
