Walking IrisHi A friend gave me a piece of a walking Iris years ago. It's growing good. And it gets plenty of sun & I use m. gro. on it. but it has never bloomed. Does anyone have any idea to why it will not bloom? Thank you for your help & God bless you!!! Kathy |

| I got some that blooms yellow at a plant swap some time ago. It prefers soggy roots (ie. wet/poor draining soil). I've got mine in a raised bed (all my beds are raised), but in a mostly shaded spot. It only gets morning sun. It's doing fine and blooms every year. |

| I have some "Walking Iris" that are the same type as yours, Mary. ![]() I have several pots of these which I over-wintered in my glasshouse, those are in bloom now, but I also planted some in my garden up here in NC (zone 8) to see how they would do. At least some of them seem to have survived the winter, but I have yet to see if they will flower. They multiply like crazy, in a month or two, I should have plenty to share. ![]() Pushin ~ I don't know what your soil is like, but here in my sandy soil, I have to "lift" the bearded Iris rhizomes pretty frequently, when they get themselves dug too deeply into the sand, they stop flowering.

| Wait until after you're sure that they aren't going to bloom this year. ![]() I usually replant mine so that the rhizomes are partly above the soil level.
