| Not dense at all, Pushin, I am the original techno toad believe me!So someone else may come along with a better idea, which would be great for both of us, ![]() but in the meantime ... I'll share what I do, which might help. ![]() I use several methods to resize photos, I have a free account with photobucket and there is a decent sizing and editing feature there. I also registered with PHIXR - a free online editor which is pretty easy to use, but there are quite a few online image editors that will do the job very nicely, and some have lots of extra bells and whistles. One of the quickest methods (for me ) is to just use the "edit" feature in WindowsXP.I actually do this with most all of the large images in my photo files, just to reduce usage in my 'puter - in most cases, I don't need my pix to be any bigger than the screen. **This method will actually change the size of the image in your computer, so if you want to retain it at the original size, make a copy of it first. ![]() 1. Find the picture you want to resize 2. Right click on the photo and left click on "Edit" from the menu that appears 3. The picture will appear with a row of options above it, ... including File - Edit - View - Image - Colors - Help 4. Left click on Image and another menu will appear 5. Left click on Stretch/Skew 6. Using the top portion ("Stretch") you can input new sizing info ... you'll notice that this works by percentile, ... insert the new percentiles to get the desired size for your photo (I usually use 25% or 30%) ... be sure to use the same % for both horizontal and vertical or your pic will be distorted. ![]()

| http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx It is a windows powertoy made by Microsoft Just go to right of page an roll down till yu see IMAGE RESIZER Download and install it (I always select save option on downloads and save it to my computer then install after it is downloaded, but you can select run) It is real small and a fast install, when it is done if you go to a picture and put your mouse pointer over it and then right click, you will see in the window that opens RESIZE PICTURES For Avatars: Position Mouse pointer over picture you want to use and Right click Select Resize pictures option in box that opens you will get a window that looks like this: ![]() Then you will get an image which looks like this: ![]() In this box select CUSTOM, then type in fits 150x150 screen which is a good sized picture for an avatar THEN CLICK OK The resized picture will be copied right next to the origional Then go to your profile, edit your user options, select new avatar an load the picture into your user data an there you go Now, this is a very quick basic program, if you have a picture that is all backround with smaller image of you and you resize it, you may not be able to see the image of you at all in the avatar. for posting pictures go to custom and select 500 X400 for a nice sized pic. If you are using windows XP this is a really nice program . Hope this might help you , Bill Last edited by dirtyfingernails; 04-14-2008 at 07:29 AM. |
