North Charleston Fall Plant Swap Goodies!

Today was the North Charleston Fall Plant Swap! I came home with lots of goodies .. here is what I brought to the swap: 3 Hidden Gingers, Black Runner Elephant Ear, Alsobia - San Miguel, Red Pinecone Shrimp Plant, and 2 Spider Plants.

Here is what I came home with!: 2 different types of Gardenias, Wishbone Plant and Tropical Hibiscus - double pink. The funny thing about the hibiscus was that the person who got the plant didn't want the plant but wanted the big pot it was in so I said I'd take it. Thankfully I always carry a couple of packs of Dollar Store shower curtains with me so we were able to decant the plant and wrap it in one of the shower curtains! Also brought home bunches of pots.

Thanks .. I'm wondering if it's possible to tell Gardenia species and cultivar from just looking at the leaves? I've been wanting Gardenia for awhile and was delighted to find two at the swap!

That sure sounded like a great swap. Full size plants at that. I used to own a gardenia.. Given to me by someone..THe smell was so fragrant when it bloomed.

Enjoy of those.

One cool swap meet. Wish we had them like that my way. I like your double pink hibiscus Xeo! I grow gardenia in tree form, potted, and named 'August Beauty'. I'm not sure if one can tell the name of your gardenia by leaf form but may be possible. Good luck with your ID!
