Thumbs upLupins in Bloom

Hi
Just took a few shots of my Lupins in full bloom. I started with 6 pink ones 4 years ago and now have 100's of many different colors.
Hope that you enjoy them as much as I do.

Very nice Garden guy!!!

I have about 3 of these they are new for me but I also got a couple started from seed, they kinda remind me of the same colors of my larkspur which I love, do you grow those? You must have a huge yard. Looks very nice!

Gary those are spectacular!. I had a red one last year that ended up dying off before summer was over. To my absolute delight I discovered lupine leaves coming up about a ft. away from where it was and it's growing nicely. I doubt I'll get any flowers but I'm hopeful it sticks around. My husband and I really enjoyed it. Yours are beautiful.

Gary I put in a lupine plant this year and am quite disappointed with it. The leaves (at the base of the stem) keep falling off. What are the light conditions of yours? They are BEAUTIFUL! I have mine in full sun and because we haven't had rain in many days I have been watering. Any help would be appreciated. I think I might have to get somemore because your cluster of them is stunning!

Lupins

Hi
They grow wild here on the side of the roads.
I dug up 6 plants 3-4 years ago and put them where I wanted to "let them go"....and they did.
I now have hundreds and many colors as they spread on their own. They are biannual up here so you never know what you are going to get till they come up.
I have them in full sun and do not do a thing to them.
I bought the "cultivated" ones that are red and yellow, for the main flower bed. They are not happy plants and I am very disappointed with them.
Oh and to the comment that I must have a large yard.....I have over 200 acres here, most is wooded. I have 9 flower beds....so far.....and a Japanese Garden with a pond. I am in the process of putting in a second pond and another garden bed of just trees and shrubs.......I can't seem to stop.
Hope that was of some help to you.
Take care
Gary

That sounds like heaven to me Gary! We just have an acre and a half and we'd love more.
