Help identifying this plant

Hi,
This is in my neighbor's yard. It blooms in the spring big red trumpet like blooms. There is also another in the yard that blooms white trumpet like blooms.

Any idea what it is? I saved the seedpods and have lots of babies but dont' know what they are.

Thanks,
Jani

Hmmm, looks like something in the Amaryllidae group . . . Crinum would be my first guess -
I have several varieties, which bloom at different times, some in spring, some in summer.
None of mine are true red, but I do have this fuchsia pink one -
Crinum 'Ellen Bosanquet' ~
do these flowers look anything like what you remember seeing, Jani?

There are some other pink to red hybrids shown here:

And there are white varieties here:

Yes it does. That is exactly what the white one looks like.

The red did not bloom this year and I think it may have had something to do with all the rain we had.

Also, these are in heavy shade.

Thank you so much!!!

Help Identifying plant

I do not know what it is but...would you be willing to trade or send me a seed pod for the postage?? I just bought a house and planted a little this summer. I have some Veggie seeds, moon plant, marigold, Castor and maybe a few more. Please let me know. This is an absolutely beautiful flower and I like the unusual stuff so much more than the norm everyday stuff.

Thanks for your consideration.

Could be Hippeastrum x johnsonii, aka hardy amaryllis. Look that up on Google to see if pictures match.

I don't know what it is either. My neighbor has one also that was there when he bought the house. It blooms pure red flowers that look kind of like that. They are not flower people but won't give it up, lol. I have tried.
