flowerThey may bloom the first yr if started early. They can grow 4 to 6 ft high, so it takes them a while. They grow like a perennial. They may just grow leaves first year and look half dead over winter, but spring they will begin growing and you will get flowers.Mine are bloomin from last year but I threw seeds around and have babies comin up,but probably won't flower til next yr.

It is the roots of he plant that comes back the next year, not the blooms. |

| My mother's hollyhocks die all the way down every year and come back beautifully the next spring. I am always saying I am going to plant some seed, and haven't yet. Maybe next year. I think they are one of the prettiest flowers! |
