sorry bali, plants growing in full sun in the colder zones usually cannot tolerate the full FL sun so well.
So in your zone I would plant crocosmia in full sun, plus in a protected area, since I would not be so sure to go colder than zone 6

Ireland is warmer than us, zone fivers. I think I recall Ireland being like a 6 or 7! Water regulates temperature, thus it's warmer there. Just a thought.... I was suprised to see that some of Canada and even Alaska is warmer than a zone 5!! I wish there was a giant lake around colorado right now, as we're expecting snow. UGH!

Yeah the weather here is unusual. One summer some tourists came back down from Pikes Peak all drenched--it was around august--and complained about it snowing up there. LOL. They bought out all the hoodies at my local gas station. haha. I guess they thought it might happen down here, too. It hailed and then snowed when my first born was born--july--It was like an omen for him though. haha. He's a little booger! Sorry this is totally off-topic. Just thought it was funny.

Yeah milk here is like 4 a gallon. Came straight from a 2 month vacation in South Carolina (visiting parents after hubby got out of the service) and then came here. And prices are pretty fixed in Germany, too. So Colorado was a shock from hell. My hubby's cousin's dog crushed some of my columbines so we went to home depot, they wanted 11 dollars. She didn't wanna spend that much so we ended up getting some yarrow seeds...2 bucks each. Geez....
