Generally speaking, Amaranthus are some of the most prolific self-sowers you can find!If your seed is viable, I think you'll have great fun growing them and find the very easy. ![]() And if your luck is like mine, come next spring, you'll be pulling out seedlings by the thousands in the area where they bloomed. ![]()

| A couple of years ago I grew "Love-lies bleeding" (Amaranthus caudatus) and "Purple Amaranth" (Amaranthus cruentus). Last year I didn't want any, so I pulled all of the seedlings as they came up, but I am still seeing a few seedlings appearing this year.
