Rooting Jar Exchange - 2007

Open To All Plan Swap Member Only, , , ,
Is there anyone interested in participating in a rooting jar exchange.
Some may ask, what is a rooting jar exchange. It is a group exchange, we will send by mail any small jar or glassware (suitable for using as a rooting jar) to a person that I will assign as your swap buddy. If interested, please post your name on this thread by August 28th. After the 28th, I will e-mail everyone and inform them who their rooting jar is to be mail to, and any other information need. If you have any questions, please contact me.
Thank you MissG

heya, neighbor!

this sounds interesting!

what's to be IN the jar? seeds or cuttings? if seeds, how much and only one thing or more than one?

any way to make note of what you prefer to receive?

Hi Joclyn,
It's so nice to meet someone else from philly here on PS.
If you would like to send a small cutting a long with
the rooting jar that would be fine, but it is up to you.
Also because this is our first rooting jar exchange
I think it should be kept simple.
When we have another rooting jar exchange,
maybe we can choice what plant we would like
to receive a long with our jar.
take care Gale

Gale, thanks for the invite.. Got a question.. I'm assuming that it's not an empty rooting jar.. If we're rooting for people before it's sent, are we talking about gel rooting medium, soil medium or water?? Or our choice?? Can't we just stick something that we rooted somewhere else into the container or jar??

Hi Lindy,
I'm happy that you are willing to participate in the rooting
Jar exchange.
We will send a empty rooting jar, our swap buddy will root
the cutting. If any one would like to send extra, that will
be fine or if you would like to add a plant that you rooted
that will be grate, if that's what you would like to do.
Lindy and Joclyn if you have any more question or
any thing you would like to discussion about
the root jar exchange, please posted here.

Smilerooting jar swap

Hi. I love this idea. It will be interesting to see what others choose to send. Everyone I know likes to use different things. I will use anything that I can get my hands on from jelly jars to old vases. I look forward to the exchange.

welcome to all ,
So far we have the following gardeners
sign-up for the Rooting Jar Exchange.
Joclyn,
Lindy/Icosden,
Cheezyrat
Gale/Missg

Cheezyrat, It's very interesting what other use for
a Rooting Jar. The last Rooting Jar Exchange I
participate in, I received a drinking glass from
the 40's the gardener that send it to me, included
a little history. The glass was a Rooting Jar
that her Grate grandmother, gave to her.
My grandson gave me his little cup, that has
a face, to use as a Rooting Jar.
I hope everyone that join, have fun.
Gale
