SmilePurple,Pink,and Purple

Got a couple things to trade, so for all you swappers listen up! My cinnamon basil has gone to seed - so easy to grow; akes beautiful purple spikey flowers, has a wonderful aroma, is highly prolific and very hardy anuual. I have a bunch of baby mimosa trees that make beautiful pink silky poofy flowers, like out of a Dr. Seuss book. Fast grower too! Seriously. Also have purple sage bush seeds. Very hardy perennial with purple bushy spikes. Can get pretty big, but thats a good thing. So, you garden party animals, fly me a kite if you're interested and hopefully we can make a deal.

I'd love to have purple sage seeds and maybe some cinnamon basil. Here are the seeds I have currently available to trade:

lychnis
morning glory (deep purple)
hyacinthoides (scilla, white)
grape hyacinth
mixed white hyacinthoides and grape hyacinth seeds
china pinks (pink blossom with dark pink center)
shasta daisy (silver princess??; 1 ft. high, bushy and compact, blooms June through August)
black-eyed susan
pampas grass

Let me know if you want any.

Diana

The baby mimosas range from 2-4 feet I guess. You could keep one alive in a pot but I definately do not think it would prosper. I kept one alive in a pot all summer long because I couldn't decide where to plant it ; it lived, but was rootbound and didn't make any flowers. Others that were first season trees planted outside grew 8-10feet and looked super beautiful with lots of pink poofy flowers.

MAK, poo. Can that idea I guess since I live in 5b. Most of the stuff I like can't survive outdoors here. Oh well. I've always love those mimosas trees though.. They are just so pretty...

Trade purple pink purple

Mak, I would love to have both a mimosa and some purple sage. I don't know if you would be willing to send me some for postage. I just bought a house last year and have not had time to plant much yet. I have some Castor Bean. Which is in my opinion a beautiful and unique plant. I also have some moonplant and I have some assorted marigold. I grew them from seed and they have bloomed continuously all summer. The butterflies really love these. Please let me know.

Thanks a bunch

I would love to have some of your Mimosa trees. I have purple Ajuga I could trade. It's a ground cover that is purplish green leaves that turn purple in the winter. It spreads like strawberries. It also gets purple blooms in the summer. I could send you some as soon as the weather gets a little nicer. It's getting down in the single digits right now and I don't want to be out in it getting plants just yet. Let me know. Deb

Icosden, My sister lives in zone 5 and has mimosa trees. They will survive if they get big enough. So if you keep them inside until spring they will grow in zone 5

i'd love to have the cinnamon basil!! maybe a mimosa as well - would that do okay in a container? it's not something i'd want to have outside as it's invasive. i do so love the puffs it puts out though! they're so pretty!

i don't have my complete list handy - never did get it together with everything that happened here in the fall.

some things i have and pm me with questions about what else:

purple coneflower
purple hyacinth bean vine
shasta daisy
red sweet william
purple bearded iris
pink strawflower
portulaca aka moss rose - various colors

i have various beans, squash and some gourds, sunflowers and a bunch of others that i just can't remember at the moment! either pm with wants or post what you're looking for here on the thread.

just about out

All the seeds have been swapped for now. Will have purple mexican sage cuttings this summer, and maybe might have a couple mimosas now if I can figure out which ones they are being as they have lost their characteristic leaves. But in spring for sure.

maryataylor, no more room indoors (without my DH throwing a tantrum).. LOL.. DH is already complaining about the indoor plants I have. Don't think he'd let me do another one indoors that large..
