Plumeria Seeds

Hi I don't have much as a new gardener. But I would love to try plumeria seeds but I don't have any plumeria to offer. I have lots of salad and herb seeds. I'm also growing Mara De Bois strawberries but those don't have runners yet. Let me if you're willing to trade or toss a seed or two my way. Thanks. Lindy

It will take 7 years from germination to ever see a bloom on a Plumeria grown from seed. Rooted cuttings are best - generally bloom within 3 years. May have some Plumeria pudica cuttings rooted by the end of summer but nothing available now. (look up Plumeria pudica on Google).

Plumeroa seeds

Plumeria seeds develope at the base of the flower. They can take as I understand up to 18 months to ripen.Once you get them growing they can take 3 to 5 years to bloom and almost never bloom like the parent. That is how that they are crossed.

Are they only on the Pudica type? My flowers on the regular plumeria fall off when they are done blooming and have never seen anything at the base. Mine have been blooming for about 5 years now.

They form on all types of Plumeria but only if they are fertlized by either insects or manually.
