iris willing to trade quantity for variety

shades of purple from light to dark, maybe a few surprises thrown in, i am willing to trade quantity for variety. i would say maybe 5 of my purples (varying sizes) for 1 small rhizome of different varieties. named or unnamed, doesnt matter. these are bearded iris and for the most part i would like to trade for the same. i have all the white, yellow, and purple i can handle, looking for bi color, pinks, oranges, burgandy, or anything interesting. willing to drive around missouri, or meet somewhere, prefer not to ship as ive never done it and dont know how to go about it. [pm if interested]

I don't have anything to trade but thought I'd share with you how I ship live plants so that you could have that option.

Bulbs, tubers, rhizomes - If fans/leaves/whatever are fairly large I take a pair of scissors & cut all but 2 or 3 inches off. I wash as much dirt off as I can with plain water & pat the bulb dry. I usually leave them indoors or in the shade for a couple of hours to make sure they are dry & won't rot in transit. I try to put them in small paper sacks & then in a box with crumpled newspaper or other packing material. I send via priority mail so they aren't in the mail more than about 3 days, depending on where they are going.

Plants - I wash as much dirt off, wrap the roots in damp paper towels or newspaper, & then wrap the towels/paper in a plastic baggie. Tie that end with tape or a twist tie so that air won't get in & dry the paper towels. Wrap the whole plant in newspaper if it's small enough; large plants can be cut back depending on what they are or just put in a box. Use crumpled newspaper or other packing material so the plants don't move around inside the box. Again, I send priority mail.

Seeds - Packets of seeds are put inside a padded or bubble-wrap envelope. By the way, these envelopes can be reused to send & receive seed packets until you are too embarrassed to send them.

I hope this will help you in your future trades!
