I bought a lufa sponge at walmart one time, and when I got it home I noticed it had seeds in it. HAs anybody ever grown these? I think it would be fun to grow something you can use as a wash wrag........

A fun plant to grow!
They want lots of sun, a steady supply of water, and a tremendous amount of space to sprawl ...
just imagine the biggest zucchini you ever grew.

The biggest effort was in the preparation of the "sponges" after the harvest.
I remember thinking that it was well worth the price to buy them ready-to-use.

I added a link to my previous post which shows the process in photos.

I remember it as being a "little" more labor intensive than the photos imply.

I've read about it, and it does sound interesting but does also sound like a lot of work. Maybe if it's just experience it would be well worth the work. Let us know how it goes if you decide to grow it.

If nobody here has them - try Ebay.
