AchimenesDoes anyone know where I can get a start of Achimenes? It is also known as the Hot Water Plant. Comes in several colors. I am looking for all colors. Here's a link where you can see a pic & some information. http://www.gardenersworld.com/talk/b...lant-17032008/ Thanks! Trumpetvine ![]() Last edited by trumpetvine; 09-11-2008 at 10:31 AM. |

AchimenesIt is such a beautiful plant & super easy to grow. I used to keep them out on my patio all summer long & the plants stayed covered in beautiful velvety blooms that the hummingbirds & butterflies just flocked to.The little rhizomes look kind of like little scaly pine cones. In the fall when they died back I would dig the rhizomes & save them in a jar in a dark cool place until spring. I had a steady supply until I was down for surgery & didn't get them dug up & they froze. http://www.plantswap.net/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif |
